Lois D. Whildin

Lois Whildin, 91, of Allentown, passed away Feb. 5 at Phoebe Home, Allentown.  Born in Summit Hill, PA, she was the daughter of William B. and Sarah (Dankel) Derby, and widow of Lewis M. Whildin.

Lois graduated from Summit Hill High School and Palmerton School of Nursing, and was a head Nurse for Mack Trucks from 1960 - 1987. Mrs. Whildin was active in Occupational Health Nursing associations at the local, state and national level, including president of the Berks County Association, 1976-1978; member of the board of directors of the Pennsylvania Occupational Health Nurses Association, 1973 - 1975, and its state-wide President from 1978-80.  
 
After retirement, she served the Mack Truck Retirees Organization as its corresponding secretary for six years, and its tour director for three years. She enjoyed music and sang with the Mack Truck Chorus.
 
She is survived by her daughters, Sara Lou (Allentown, PA) and Gwen (Germansville, PA)
