Charles James Velesaris, 79, a husband, a father, and a grandfather took his seat next to our heavenly Father on January 7, 2013.  Charles was born in Woburn, Mass., and was known to many as Pinky.  He was a son of the late Demetrios and Theodora (Varoutsos) Velesaris.  Charles was a career civil servant who worked with pride for the US Postal Service for over 33 years, retiring in 1991.  Throughout his career he earned many commendations for his selfless service, always thinking of others first.  Charles was a kind, gentle and loving person to one and all. 

 He is survived by his wife and best friend Anna (Karapelou) Velesaris, whom he married over 46 years ago; two sons; Demetrios and his wife Kelly, Charles and his wife Lisa, and his daughter Christina and her husband Andrew and seven adoring grandchildren Gabriella, Demi, Nikko, Elliana, Alexis, and Victoria.  A Korean War Veteran, Charles served our country honorably from 1953 to 1960 in the United States Marine Corps.  Charles had it all figured out, he was a good man and made a difference in people’s lives. He enjoyed life to his fullest with his family, he volunteered his time as a little league baseball coach and as a tax representative for AARP; he was an active member of the Masons for over 50 years and a member of the Easton chapter of the American Hellenic Educational Progressive Association.  His hobbies included fishing and playing quiots for Williams Township and West Easton Maennerchor.  

The viewing will held on Saturday Jan. 12 from 9-11 am followed by services at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Cathedral 1607 W. Union Blvd., Bethlehem.  The committal service will be held at Cedar Hill Memorial Park, 1700 Airport Rd, Allentown.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Saint Nicholas Greek Orthodox Cathedral in honor of Charles.
