Athena (Karras) Bozakis

Athena G. (Karras) Bozakis, 72, of Allentown, passed away on March 20 at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest. Born in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late George and Antonia (Mena) Karras.  She attended Allentown High School and  graduated with the Class of 1958.  Several years later, she  received an associates degree in computer science from Lehigh County Community College and was employed as  a  systems analyst  for the  County of Lehigh for over 20 years, later returning to LCCC as an instructor at the night school throughout the 1980’s.
 
She  loved her family and had many close friends,  but  is best remembered for her  giving nature, home cooking,  spirituality and  sense of humor. Musical from a young age, she also enjoyed singing and  playing the violin.  In later years she took up painting and volunteered as a literacy coach.  
Survivors:   Athena was a beloved mother to her son,  George A. Bozakis, and 2 daughters,   Mari I. Calcagni and Antonia N. Cummings; five grandchildren,   Dominique,  Anthony,  Nikole, Alexander W. and  Nicholas;  and a great-grandson,   Alexander E.
 
Services: A memorial service to honor her life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 6th  at St. Anne's Episcopal Church, 6667 Lower Macungie Rd., Trexlertown, PA with Rev. Canon Michael F. Piovane Ed. D. officiating.  Visitation with the family from 12 noon until 1pm in the church.  Interment of urn will follow at Resurrection Cemetery. The family is being assisted by the Nicos C.
