Fern O. Rowe

Fern O. Baumgartner-Rowe passed away February 20 at age 92, living in the Fellowship Community in Whitehall for the past seven years. She graduated from Allentown High School in the class of 1943. She was a Protestant, and worked as a secretary at Vultee Aircraft during World War II. She married Elwood E. Rowe in 1946 and would have been married for 72 years this coming March 2nd. Fern was an active downhill skier and she received an Angel pin from the National Ski Patrol for 25 years of service supporting the Big Boulder/Jack Frost Ski Patrol. She was also a golfer, living in a golfing community in Florida for 15 years. 

Survivors: In addition to her husband, she was a loving mother to a son Richard D. Rowe and wife Bonnie of Glen Ellyn, Illinois; daughters Judith A. Wells and husband Michael of Allentown, Susan L. Flanagan and husband Jack of Edinboro, Pa; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Her wishes were to have no services, with interment at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. Arrangements by Nicos C. Elias Funeral Home, Allentown.
