Lois J. Drees

Lois Drees passed away on November 22 in Breinigsville, PA. She was 82.

The daughter of Frederick and Emma Litzebauer, she was born and raised in Maplewood, NJ and a graduate of Columbia High School, South Orange, NJ and Centenary College, Hackettstown, NJ. She was married to Daniel Drees for thirty years, until his passing in 1985. She was a resident of Hilltown, PA and Franconia, PA townships for 35 years and was a real estate sales executive in the Upper Bucks County area for 15 years.

A long-time parishioner of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church, Hilltown, PA, she sang in the choir and served as a catechist and lector. In recent years she was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Church, Orefield, PA. She was engaged in numerous charitable works, enjoyed golf and tennis with friends and traveled extensively internationally.

She is survived by her sister, Joan Litzebauer Brubaker of Maplewood, NJ; sons Scott Drees, his wife Viktorija and Scott’s children Jameson and Daniel along with fiancé Melissa and their daughter Atlas; Stephen Drees and wife Sandra and children Madeleine and Meredith; daughters Catherine Phillips and husband William, their son Ryan, daughter Lyndsey and husband JJ; Dana Busits and husband Stephen and daughter Jordan, and Ellen Luckanitz and husband Jason and their children Jared and Maranda. 

Lois was preceded in death by her stepbrother Kenneth Wecht and spouses Joseph DeHaven and Robert Metz. A beloved wife, mother and “nana”- she was engaged in all things related to her children, family and those in need. She was a mother to many more than her own children and a friend to all.

Services: Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph the Worker Church, Orefield, PA at 11:00 a.m. Friday, Dec. 4. Family will be greeting friends and relatives at the church from 10 to 11 prior to the mass. Private interment will be held at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church cemetery, Hilltown, PA.

2 Timothy 4:7-8:  I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day - and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.
