Jayliel Vega Batista

5 year old Jayliel Vega Batista, of Allentown died January 2. He was a son of Gilberto L. Vega and Yelitza I. Batista.  Jayliel loved music and television shows, especially Peppa Pig and Caillou, and making "selfie" videos with his tablet and his mother's phone.
He is survived by his parents; siblings Miguel and Tayritza Molina, Laysha, Jayluis and Gracenalie Vega; maternal grandparents Yolanda Ildefonso and Eufemio Batista; uncle Gilberto Vega and aunt Dora Vega.
 
Services: viewing on Friday, Jan. 8 at Calvary Temple, 3436 Winchester Rd., Allentown, 18104 from 2 p.m. until 7 p.m., with a service at 5:00.
 
Contributions: all funeral and burial expenses are covered, however those wishing to make a donation to the family can make a check to "Yelitza Batista" and send to Nicos C. Elias Funeral Home, 1227 Hamilton St., Allentown, 18102 or bring it to the service.
In the wake of Jayliel's tragic death, the family wishes to thank all who assisted, searched, brought food for officers, prayed for our his family and the searchers. Thanks to the residents of this community, Keck Park, who showed overwhelming concern, support and patience as the search was conducted; the police officers, fire department and dive team, streets department, health department and all the rescue volunteers, our coroner Scott Grim and his team, as well as those offering support and donations for his funeral and burial.
