Robert H. McMickle

Robert H. McMickle, 91, of Allentown, died January 9 at Lehigh Valley Hospital. He was the husband of Gwendolyn G. McMickle, who passed away in December. They were married over 66 years. Born in Paterson, NJ, he was a son of the late Levi and Margaret (Hawley) McMickle. Robert earned his B.S. degree at Oberlin College, a master's from the University of Illinois and a Ph.D. from Penn State University.  He was an administrator at the Seabrook Station nuclear power plant in New Hampshire, and prior to that was a professor of physics at Robert College, Istanbul, Turkey. In the 1950's, he was a research scientist for B.F. Goodrich. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy during World War II.
 
Survivors: sons Douglas of Oregon, Alan and Barry of Allentown; daughters Kathleen of Washington State and Margaret of New Jersey; two grandchildren, Christopher and Hendrik.
 
Services:  viewing at 9:30 a.m. Friday at Nicos C. Elias Funeral Home, 1227 W. Hamilton St., Allentown, followed by a funeral service at 10:30 with Rev. Rodney Wells officiating. Interment following at Jerusalem Western Salisbury Cemetery.
